About David Ardley

Born February 19th, 1951 in Berkeley California, David was raised and educated on the California coastline. From a young age David began his love affair with the ocean, becoming a surfer at age 13, and being dazzled by the beauty of the sea. As a teenager and young man his artistic talents emerged as he experimented with airbrushes and surrealist images.

In 1974 he emigrated to New Zealand where he built a beach-side home and started a family. Being surrounded by an inspiring pristine environment, moved David to continue his artistic passion. His work as a "realist" painter was evident, capturing the beauty and mood of his chosen subjects.

With years of experience and exhibitions behind him, David is focusing his art predominantly on the alluring subject of water - on hand polished pure aluminium. All of his works have a mesmerising meditative quality to them, that takes hold of the viewer - and draws them in.

His paintings hang in collections throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as in Britain, Holland, Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States.

Now calling the lovely Gold Coast of Australia home, David's art is a unique fusion of materials and influences. Each work of art is a joy for him to create and, most importantly, his ultimate desire is to give you visual pleasure, stimulate your mind, and inspire your soul.
